Product Description
Autel MaxiBAS BT506 Battery and Electrical System Tester
The Autel MaxiBAS BT506 is a compact Bluetooth battery and electrical system analysis tool that pairs with a free iOS or Android app to deliver professional-grade battery testing without the bulk of a dedicated tablet tester. At 320g (0.7 lb.) and roughly the size of a deck of cards, the BT506 is designed to live in a technician's toolbox — always ready when a customer comes in with a slow crank or a battery-related complaint.
How It Works
The BT506 uses Adaptive Conductance technology — an analysis method that measures a battery's actual cold cranking ability and reserve capacity rather than just voltage. This matters because a battery can show 12.4V on a voltmeter and still be failing. Adaptive Conductance gives you a more accurate picture of true battery health, which means fewer comebacks from misdiagnosed battery failures.
The BT506 connects to the vehicle via the included battery clamps and communicates wirelessly via Bluetooth to the free Autel app on your iOS or Android device. Test results display directly on your phone or tablet.

BT506 vs. BT508 vs. BT608 — Choosing the Right Battery Tester
The BT506 is the app-dependent entry model: no screen on the device, results on your phone. It does basic battery and charging system testing well, but lacks battery registration capability. Here is how the lineup compares:
- BT506 ($195): Compact app-based tester. Battery and charging system only. No registration, no code reading. Best for shops that want a quick portable battery test capability.
- BT508 (~$295): Adds a Bluetooth VCI for battery and electrical component registration across 53 vehicle makes. Reads and erases codes on all available systems. Illustrated battery position guide. Still app-dependent for display.
- BT608 (~$595): Standalone 5.5-inch Android touchscreen tablet. Built-in thermal printer. AutoVIN and ScanVIN. Full diagnostic all-system autoscan. No annual update fee. Best for shops doing volume battery service.
- BT609 (~$795): Largest 7-inch Android tablet. 64GB storage, 5800 mAh battery. All-systems diagnostics plus full maintenance service functions. Includes one year free software updates.
The BT506 also works as a companion tester for Autel diagnostic tablets that have the Battery Test application — so if you already have an Autel MaxiSYS or similar tablet, the BT506 adds hardware battery testing capability to your existing setup.
